The Chronicles of Benny the Dog

It's been 7 days
Since Benny found his home with me. A quick background on this little guy - he came from a litter of 4 where Mom was bred to another Chihuahua immediately after her first cycle. The story, according to Panora PETS, was that the lady who bred Benny's mom was hoping to make a lot of money selling Chihuahua puppies and ended up not selling any of the puppies. Thus, Mom and the pups were raised outside of the house and by the time they were rescued, the puppies were almost feral. They would do #1 and #2 on anyone who would attempt to hold them because they were not socialized and just terrified of people. Benny is 16 weeks old and was born on May 7. In the 7 days he's been with me, I found that he likes to chew on rawhide, is very trainable - he learned how to sit within a day with the help of some Waggin Train chicken jerky dog treats, will do #1 and #2 outside as long he is on a schedule, he loves me unconditionally and hates to be left alone but he is doing better. The picture below is him sleeping in his dog bed in my room - he typically sleeps in a wire kennel but seems to be just happy and content in his dog bed. We shall see if he makes it through the night without any accidents.
